CAT Scan
(Computed Aided Tomography)
Computed Aided Tomography (CAT scan) is a powerful technique which uses ionizing
radiation (x-rays) to create a cross sectional 3-D image of the body. CAT scanning
is painless and produces very detailed pictures of the organs, bones, vessels, and
various other bony and soft tissues of the body. Because images are created in cross
section, much greater detail is gained with CAT scan as compared to traditional
X-rays.
Our
radiologists interpret all CAT scan exams performed on the seven CAT
scan machines located throughout our three locations. We employ radiologists with
expert training in CAT scan imaging of the heart, musculoskeletal system, spine,
and brain.
